We have been away from our site for a while however we are back with a vengeance!

We have less the 718 days left on Earth, according to the doom Sayers!  I want to believe that 2012 myths are just that.  However with recent events it is hard to say that it is a myth.

Biblical floods in Australia.
Birds dropping out of the sky dead.
Fish dead on the banks.
Earthquakes abound.
Unprecedented Winter weather.

I want to believe we have a future!

Help me disprove them.

OK.  I know that everyone is freaked out over the deaths of thousands of birds and fish in Arkansas however I was looking at this and it got me to thinking about what could be causing it. I took a closer look and remembered that the New Madrid Fault line is very close to the areas where the deaths took place.

Is it possible that these occurrences are a precursor to something greater?

I have been searching the web and found 2 disturbing articles on MSNBC.

They discuss how 2010 was the worst year yet for natural disasters. Everything from Earthquakes to floods to blizzards.

“2010′s biggest natural disasters
The natural forces of the planet were in full swing this year, with some spectacular and devastating consequences. From the massive Haiti earthquake to a bevy of explosive volcano eruptions, 2010 saw its share of natural disasters across the planet.

“2010′s world gone wild: Quakes, floods, blizzards
Earthquakes, heat waves, floods, volcanoes, super typhoons, blizzards, landslides and droughts killed at least a quarter million people in 2010 – the deadliest year in more than a generation.

At least 40 out of 80 pilot whales that stranded themselves on a remote northern New Zealand beach have died, and more whales are joining them on land.

Is Portugal Next?

Did you feel it?  I did. The 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck near the Mexico-California border on Sunday, killing at least one person as it rocked buildings and panicked residents from Tijuana to Los Angeles.

I was in Laguna at the time and it felt strong!  Lasting a good 45 seconds, it shook us after our Easter Lunch.

Here is what MSNBC had to say on it…

One person died when a house in Mexicali collapsed, Alfredo Escobedo, director of emergency services in Baja California state, Mexico, told Reuters. He said others were reported trapped in elevators, retaining walls had collapsed in some places and electricity was out in several parts of the state.

The the earthquake struck at 3:40 p.m. in Baja California in Mexico, about 19 miles southeast of Mexicali, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was initially reported as a magnitude-6.9 quake. The updated magnitude was still an estimate, according to USGS seismologist Lucy Jones.

Mexicali, home to roughly a million people, is a prosperous city and a busy border crossing with the United States. Local industry is mainly agriculture, food processing plants and assembly-for-export plants.

An empty multistory parking garage under construction in Mexicali collapsed and broken gas pipes sparked a number of fires, Baja California civil protection official Eduardo Sandoval told Mexican radio. He had no reports of casualties.

In Tijuana, about 135 miles away from the epicenter, a Reuters witness said the quake visibly jolted cars in a parking lot and shook a computer on her desk. A highway between Tijuana and Mexicali was badly damaged, civil protection officials said.

The area was hit by magnitude-3.0 quakes all week.

“It’s been quite a while since we’ve had an earthquake this large,” Jones said. “The last time we had an earthquake this large in either Baja or California was in 1992 with the Landers Earthquake, which was 7.3.”  [Read more at MSNBC]

There is word that this has already triggered smaller quakes up and down the west coast.

We had a 4.4 at 4:04 am on the 16th of March. I would expect that we would of had a lot of smaller quakes afterward.

However that does not seem to be the case.

It seems very ominous that there are not many earthquakes for this area. What do you think?

The following article was sent to me. It discusses the Chile earthquake and how it affected the axis of the earth by 3 inches and how it shortened our day by 1.26 milliseconds.

The massive 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile may have changed the entire Earth’s rotation and shortened the length of days on our planet, a NASA scientist said Monday.

The quake, the seventh strongest earthquakein recorded history, hit Chile Saturday and should have shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.26 milliseconds, according to research scientist Richard Gross at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

”Perhaps more impressive is how much the quake shifted Earth’s axis,” NASA officials said in a Monday update.

The computer model used by Gross and his colleagues to determine the effects of the Chile earthquake effect also found… [more]
